The hotel has a smoky atmosphere and is showing signs of aging, but my room in the casino building was surprisingly clean and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The service seemed lacking, with the front desk mishap and lack of kindness from staff, except for the housemaids. The location downtown was convenient with its proximity to restaurants and other casinos, but the smoky stench was off-putting. The dining experience was subpar with plastic silverware, but the cafe was ready and served hot meals. Overall, a mixed experience that could be improved.
The hotel room was very comfortable and offered good amenities, but it could have used some maintenance. Unfortunately, it had a smell like old shampooed carpet or mildew and reeked of cigarettes. However, the service was friendly, professional, and engaging. The location was in old downtown Ely, providing a different view of the town, but it was a bit smoky because of the casino. The dining experience was average, with limited breakfast options and only small discounts available. The hotel's facilities overall were acceptable but nothing exceptional.
